REMSS Schools Basketball League (Grade 4-5 only)

Thanks in advance to all the parents who will come cheer us on, or help transport kids to and from basketball games at opposing schools. We also want to thank Mrs. Storsley, Ms. K. White and Mr. Mancini for stepping up and coaching our teams. We had so much initial interest from boys that we created two teams. Games begin this week. Good luck RCG Pride! Congratulations to Ms. Dary and Mrs. Jacobson

Ms. Dary’s daughter was born on January 19. Mrs. Jacobson also had a baby girl on last Friday. Both mothers are doing well and looking forward to their new lives as parents.

Jump Rope For Heart

RCG students will be jumping rope in gym during February, to improve their fitness and help make their hearts stronger.

During February, RCG students can raise money on-line or by asking family and friends for money that they can bring to school. Thank you Division 1 for taking leadership for this healthy activity.

You can donate and support a student by going to http://support.heartandstroke.ca/.

TWU Teachers & KPU SEA Students

With the new year we welcome back our five TWU student teachers – Ms. Austin, Ms. Bogress, Ms. Schnitzer, Ms. Sykes, and Ms. Vander Pol – who have settled into their full time practicums in Divisions 1, 2, 4, 8 & 9. We also welcome 5 short-term practicum students from TWU who will be working one day per week with Ms. White/Ms. Koop, Ms. Choi, Ms. Donnelly, Ms. Koett and Ms. McInnes/Mrs. Boysen. Lastly, our two SEA practicum students from KPU began their practicum today. RCG truly is a school where we are all leaders, taking responsibility to grow and learn from each other, and to model and mentor new educators.

Have a great week everybody!
